The Artistic Journey of Laguna
How did it start
Laguna is an artist with a unique fusion of industrial precision and artistic vision. A graduate in Manufacturing Technology from UPR Bayamón, he holds certifications as a Quality Technician and Mechanical Inspector from the American Society for Quality (ASQ), alongside a 6 Sigma Yellow Belt. His creative journey takes him beyond the technical, into the world of abstract painting and sculptural works, with a strong foundation in 3D printing.
Influenced by the architectural visions of Tadao Ando and Jaime Suárez, as well as the sculptural mastery of Richard Serra, Laguna’s style blends architecture, shipwrecks, archaeology, deconstructivism, minimalism, and geometric abstraction. His works range from abstract paintings to high-quality polymer sculptures, some of which are engineered into metal with structural integrity.
As a self-taught artist in both painting and sculpture, Laguna’s approach is defined by a desire to merge the aesthetic with the functional, the traditional with the cutting-edge. His pieces invite audiences into a world of structural beauty and minimalistic innovation.
